Key Responsibilities For State & Local Tax Analyst (SALT): - Conduct research on state and local tax regulations to ensure compliance with laws and regulations - Prepare and review state and local tax returns for clients - Assist in tax planning strategies to minimize clients' state and local tax liabilities - Analyze financial data to identify tax savings opportunities and risks - Communicate with clients and internal teams to provide guidance on state and local tax matters - Stay updated on changes in state and local tax laws and regulations Required Qualifications: - Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field - Minimum of 2 years of experience in state and local tax compliance and consulting - Strong knowledge of state and local tax laws and regulations - Proficiency in tax research tools and MS Office Suite - Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills - Strong communication and interpersonal skills - CPA certification or progress towards certification is a plus Desired Skills: - Master's degree in Taxation or related field - Experience with tax software such as Corptax or ONESOURCE - Ability to work independently and as part of a team - Detail-oriented with a focus on accuracy - Strong project management skills Compensation & Benefits: The State & Local Tax Analyst (SALT) position at BDO USA in Albuquerque, New Mexico offers a competitive annual salary range of $65,000 to $85,000, commensurate with experience and qualifications.
