Position Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Research Data Scientist - Statistical Analysis to join our growing Data & Analytics team. This is a fully REMOTE position, allowing you to work from anywhere in the USA. As a Research Data Scientist, you will be responsible for designing, conducting, and analyzing statistical experiments to improve Skillshare's platform and user experience. You will work closely with product managers, engineers, and other data scientists to identify opportunities for improvement and develop data-driven solutions. This role requires a strong understanding of statistical methods, experimental design, and data analysis techniques, as well as excellent communication and collaboration skills.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and implement A/B tests and other statistical experiments to evaluate product features and marketing campaigns.
• Analyze experimental data using statistical techniques to identify significant differences and draw actionable insights.
• Develop and maintain statistical models to predict user behavior and optimize platform performance.
• Communicate findings and recommendations to stakeholders through clear and concise presentations and reports.
• Collaborate with product managers and engineers to implement data-driven solutions.
• Stay up-to-date on the latest statistical methods and data analysis techniques.
• Contribute to the development of best practices for data analysis and experimentation.
• Participate in virtual team meetings and contribute to a collaborative remote work environment.

Required Qualifications

• Master's or PhD degree in Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, or a related field.
• 3+ years of experience in data science, with a focus on statistical analysis and experimentation.
• Strong understanding of statistical methods, including hypothesis testing, regression analysis, and experimental design.
• Proficiency in statistical programming languages such as R or Python.
• Experience with A/B testing platforms and data visualization tools.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a remote team.
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Must be located within the United States.

Technical Requirements

As a fully remote employee, you will need to meet the following technical requirements:

• Dedicated home office space free from distractions.
• High-speed internet connection (minimum 50 Mbps download and 10 Mbps upload).
• Reliable computer with sufficient processing power and memory for data analysis.
• Proficiency in using video conferencing tools such as Zoom or Google Meet.
• Availability to work during core business hours in the US Eastern Time Zone (9 AM - 5 PM ET) to facilitate collaboration with team members.
• Skillshare will provide a home office stipend to help you set up your workspace.

Compensation & Benefits

The annual salary range for this REMOTE Research Data Scientist - Statistical Analysis position is $130,000 - $160,000, commensurate with experience and location. In addition to competitive compensation, Skillshare offers a comprehensive benefits package, including:
