Position Summary

Aviva is seeking a highly skilled Mechanical Engineer to join our remote team. This role focuses on designing, analyzing, and optimizing mechanical systems and manufacturing processes. The ideal candidate will leverage their expertise in CAD/CAM software, lean manufacturing, and quality assurance to enhance product performance and efficiency. This position offers the flexibility of remote work while contributing to Aviva’s mission of engineering excellence.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and develop mechanical components and systems using CAD/CAM software.
  • Implement lean manufacturing principles to optimize production processes.
  • Conduct quality control assessments and ensure compliance with industry standards.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to troubleshoot and resolve engineering challenges.
  • Apply Six Sigma methodologies to improve product quality and reduce waste.
  • Analyze manufacturing data to identify areas for improvement and innovation.
  • Prepare technical documentation, including specifications, reports, and project plans.

Required Qualifications

  • 0 to 12 years of experience in mechanical engineering or a related field.
  • Proficiency in CAD/CAM software for design and simulation.
  • Strong knowledge of manufacturing processes and quality control standards.
  • Experience applying lean manufacturing principles in a production environment.
  • Six Sigma certification (Green Belt or higher preferred).
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently in a remote setting while collaborating with global teams.

Required Education

A PhD in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a closely related discipline is required.

Desired Skills

  • Experience with finite element analysis (FEA) and computational fluid dynamics (CFD).
  • Familiarity with automation and robotics in manufacturing.
  • Project management certification (PMP or equivalent).
  • Strong communication skills for presenting technical information to stakeholders.

Compensation & Benefits

Aviva offers a competitive salary range of $59,000 to $112,000 annually, commensurate with experience and qualifications. In addition, employees enjoy comprehensive benefits, including health insurance, retirement plans, professional development opportunities, and flexible work arrangements.
