Position Summary
The Chemical Engineer – Remote will support Chevron’s production facilities by ensuring that all chemical processes meet the highest standards of quality, safety, and efficiency. This role focuses on implementing and maintaining robust quality control and assurance programs, conducting statistical analyses, and collaborating with cross‑functional teams to resolve process deviations. The position is fully remote, offering flexibility while requiring strong communication and problem‑solving capabilities.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop, execute, and monitor quality control processes for chemical production streams.
- Apply ISO and other industry quality assurance standards to maintain compliance.
- Perform statistical analysis of process data to identify trends, variances, and improvement opportunities.
- Conduct inspections using established techniques and document findings accurately.
- Investigate and resolve quality issues through root cause analysis and corrective action plans.
- Communicate findings and recommendations to production teams, engineering, and management.
- Maintain detailed records of quality incidents, corrective actions, and process changes.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives by recommending process optimizations.
- Ensure all activities adhere to Chevron’s safety, environmental, and regulatory policies.
Required Qualifications
- 0 to 13 years of experience in chemical engineering, quality control, or related fields.
- Demonstrated knowledge of quality control processes and quality assurance standards (e.g., ISO 9001, ISO 14001).
- Proficiency in statistical analysis tools and techniques.
- Experience with inspection methods and documenting quality issues.
- Strong root cause analysis and problem‑solving skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication, especially with production and operations teams.
- High attention to detail and ability to work independently in a remote environment.
- Technical knowledge of chemical processes, equipment, and safety protocols.
Required Education
Other relevant post‑secondary education or certifications that provide a solid foundation in chemical engineering principles, quality management, or related technical disciplines.
Desired Skills
- Familiarity with advanced data analytics software (e.g., Minitab, JMP, Python).
- Experience with Lean Six Sigma or other continuous improvement methodologies.
- Knowledge of environmental compliance regulations.
- Project management experience in a manufacturing or process‑focused environment.
- Ability to mentor junior engineers or technicians.
Compensation & Benefits
Chevron offers a competitive salary range of $57,000 to $99,000 annually, commensurate with experience and qualifications.
