Position Summary

The Technical Writer will join CIMIC Group’s documentation team on a remote basis, providing clear, concise, and accurate technical content that supports project delivery, compliance, and knowledge management. This role is responsible for creating, maintaining, and organizing a wide range of documents, including manuals, procedures, reports, and recordkeeping systems. The ideal candidate will demonstrate meticulous attention to detail, strong organizational abilities, and a proven track record in document management and data entry.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop, edit, and format technical documentation, ensuring consistency with CIMIC Group’s style guides and industry standards.
  • Maintain and update the company’s document management system, guaranteeing that all records are current, searchable, and securely stored.
  • Collaborate with engineers, project managers, and subject‑matter experts to gather accurate information and translate complex technical concepts into user‑friendly language.
  • Perform rigorous quality checks, proofreading, and validation of content to uphold high standards of accuracy and completeness.
  • Manage recordkeeping processes, including version control, archiving, and retrieval procedures for regulatory compliance.
  • Enter and verify data in various databases and tracking tools, ensuring data integrity and timely reporting.
  • Identify opportunities to improve documentation workflows, recommending tools or practices that enhance efficiency.
  • Provide training and support to internal teams on document management best practices and usage of the content repository.

Required Qualifications

  • 2 to 11 years of professional experience in technical writing, documentation, or related fields.
  • Demonstrated expertise in document management and recordkeeping practices.
  • Exceptional attention to detail with a proven ability to produce error‑free content.
  • Strong data entry skills with high accuracy and speed.
  • Excellent organizational skills, capable of managing multiple projects and meeting tight deadlines.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, especially Word and Excel, and familiarity with content management systems (CMS) or document control software.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to convey technical information clearly to diverse audiences.

Required Education

Bachelor’s Degree in Technical Communication, English, Engineering, Information Management, or a related discipline.

Desired Skills

  • Experience with industry‑specific standards such as ISO 9001, ISO 14001, or AS/NZS construction documentation guidelines.
  • Knowledge of graphic design tools (e.g., Adobe InDesign, Visio) for creating diagrams and visual aids.
  • Familiarity with collaborative platforms such as SharePoint, Confluence, or Teams.
  • Understanding of construction, engineering, or mining terminology.
  • Ability to work independently in a remote environment while maintaining strong team connections.

Compensation & Benefits

CIMIC Group offers a competitive salary range of $64,000 to $123,000 annually, commensurate with experience and qualifications. Additional benefits include:
