Key Responsibilities For Corporate Accountant:
- Prepare and analyze financial statements in compliance with accounting principles and standards.
- Support the month-end and year-end close processes.
- Assist in the preparation of financial reports, budgets, and forecasts.
- Conduct internal audits to ensure accuracy and compliance.
- Collaborate with external auditors during annual audits.
- Manage intercompany transactions and reconciliations.
- Monitor and analyze financial data to provide insights for decision-making.
- Assist in process improvements and implementation of accounting policies.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance.
- CPA certification is preferred.
- 3+ years of experience in corporate accounting or related field.
- Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting.
- Proficiency in accounting software and MS Excel.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
Desired Skills:
- Experience with ERP systems such as SAP or Oracle.
- Knowledge of tax compliance and regulations.
- Advanced Excel skills, including pivot tables and VLOOKUP.
- Ability to adapt to a fast-paced and dynamic work environment.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
Compensation & Benefits:
The annual salary range for the Corporate Accountant position at Avalara in Indianapolis, Indiana, is between $65,000 and $80,000, commensurate with experience and qualifications.
