Key Responsibilities For Event Coordinator:
- Plan, organize, and coordinate various events such as corporate meetings, conferences, product launches, and special events
- Liaise with clients to understand their event requirements and preferences
- Source and negotiate with vendors, suppliers, and venues to ensure cost-effective event execution
- Develop event timelines, budgets, and logistical plans to ensure smooth event operations
- Coordinate event logistics including catering, transportation, audiovisual equipment, and accommodations
- Oversee onsite event management to ensure events run smoothly and meet client expectations
- Manage post-event activities such as feedback collection and evaluation for continuous improvement
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Hospitality Management, Event Planning, Marketing, or related field
- Proven experience as an event coordinator or similar role in the hospitality or events industry
- Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to multitask and prioritize effectively
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to work with clients, vendors, and internal teams
- Proficiency in event management software and tools for budgeting, scheduling, and guest management
- Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing priorities
Desired Skills:
- Certification in Event Planning or Project Management
- Knowledge of local event venues, suppliers, and regulations in Halifax, Nova Scotia
- Creative thinking and problem-solving skills to address unexpected challenges during events
- Experience in negotiating contracts and managing vendor relationships
- Understanding of event marketing and promotional strategies to attract attendees
Compensation & Benefits:
The annual salary range for the Event Coordinator position at Air Canada Vacations in Halifax, Nova Scotia, is between $50,000 to $60,000 CAD, commensurate with experience and qualifications.
