Key Responsibilities For Accounting Director: - Oversee all aspects of the accounting department, including financial reporting, budget preparation, and forecasting - Develop and implement accounting policies and procedures to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements - Manage the month-end and year-end close processes, including reviewing journal entries and reconciliations - Lead and mentor a team of accounting professionals to ensure accurate and timely financial reporting - Collaborate with internal and external auditors to facilitate audits and address any findings - Analyze financial data and provide insights to senior management to support strategic decision-making Required Qualifications: - Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA certification preferred - 8+ years of progressive experience in accounting, with at least 3 years in a supervisory role - Strong knowledge of US GAAP and regulatory requirements in the banking and finance industry - Experience with financial reporting systems and proficiency in Excel and other accounting software - Excellent communication and leadership skills with the ability to interact effectively with stakeholders at all levels Desired Skills: - Master's degree in Accounting or Finance - Experience with implementing process improvements and system enhancements - Knowledge of IFRS and other international accounting standards - Prior experience working in a Big 4 accounting firm or financial services industry - Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail Compensation & Benefits: The annual salary range for the Accounting Director position at BlackRock in Baltimore, Maryland is $150,000 - $180,000, commensurate with experience and qualifications.
