Key Responsibilities for Accounting Manager:
- Oversee and manage the accounting department's day-to-day operations, ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting
- Develop and implement financial policies, procedures, and controls to safeguard company assets and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements
- Coordinate the month-end and year-end close processes, including financial statement preparation and analysis
- Manage the preparation of budgets, forecasts, and financial projections to support strategic decision-making
- Supervise and mentor accounting staff, providing guidance and support to foster professional growth and development
- Collaborate with internal and external auditors to facilitate the annual audit process and address any audit findings promptly
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA certification preferred
- Minimum of 5 years of progressive accounting experience, with at least 2 years in a supervisory role
- Strong knowledge of GAAP principles, financial reporting standards, and regulatory requirements
- Proficiency in accounting software and advanced Microsoft Excel skills
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
- Ability to prioritize tasks, meet deadlines, and work effectively in a fast-paced environment
Desired Skills:
- Master's degree in Accounting, Finance, or MBA
- Experience in the banking or financial services industry
- Knowledge of SAP or Oracle financial systems
- Experience with process improvement initiatives and systems implementations
- Strong leadership skills and the ability to motivate and inspire a team
Compensation & Benefits:
The annual salary range for the Accounting Manager position at PNC Financial Services in Charleston, West Virginia is $90,000 to $110,000, commensurate with experience and qualifications.
