Position Summary

Gibson Dunn is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Business Data Architect specializing in Predictive Modeling to join our growing Data & Analytics team. This is a fully remote position, offering the opportunity to work from anywhere within the United States. As a Business Data Architect, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and implementing data architectures that support predictive modeling initiatives across the firm. You will collaborate with stakeholders from various departments to understand business needs, translate them into technical requirements, and build scalable and reliable data solutions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and implement data architectures optimized for predictive modeling, including data warehousing, data lakes, and data marts.
  • Develop and maintain data models, ETL processes, and data quality standards.
  • Collaborate with data scientists and business analysts to understand their data requirements and provide them with the necessary data infrastructure.
  • Evaluate and recommend new data technologies and tools to enhance our predictive modeling capabilities.
  • Ensure data security and compliance with relevant regulations.
  • Develop and maintain comprehensive documentation of data architectures and processes.
  • Work closely with IT and infrastructure teams to ensure the smooth operation of data systems.
  • Participate in the planning and execution of data governance initiatives.
  • Conduct performance tuning and optimization of data systems.
  • Contribute to the development of best practices for data architecture and predictive modeling within the firm.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Data Science, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in data architecture, with a focus on predictive modeling.
  • Strong understanding of data warehousing principles, data modeling techniques, and ETL processes.
  • Experience with cloud-based data platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP).
  • Proficiency in SQL and at least one scripting language (e.g., Python, R).
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in a remote team environment.
  • Proven ability to translate business requirements into technical specifications.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Must be able to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Must have a reliable high-speed internet connection and a dedicated home office space.

Technical Requirements

As a fully remote employee, you will be responsible for maintaining a functional home office environment. This includes:

  • High-Speed Internet: A stable and reliable high-speed internet connection with a minimum upload speed of 10 Mbps and download speed of 50 Mbps is required.
  • Dedicated Workspace: A quiet and private workspace free from distractions.
  • Equipment: Gibson Dunn will provide a stipend to cover the cost of essential equipment, including a laptop, monitor, keyboard, mouse, and headset.
  • Time Zone: While we offer flexible working hours, some overlap with Eastern Time Zone (EST) may be required for meetings and collaboration.

Compensation & Benefits

The annual salary range for this remote Business Data Architect - Predictive Modeling position is $150,000 - $200,000, commensurate with experience and qualifications. Gibson Dunn offers a comprehensive benefits package, including:
