Key Responsibilities for Carpenter:
- Interpret project blueprints and specifications to determine materials required
- Measure, cut, and shape wood, plastic, and other materials
- Install structures and fixtures, such as windows, doors, cabinets, and trim
- Construct building frameworks, including walls, floors, and roofs
- Inspect and replace damaged framework or other structures
- Collaborate with other trades professionals to ensure project completion on time and within budget
- Adhere to safety protocols and regulations at all times
Required Qualifications:
- Minimum 3 years of experience as a Carpenter in the construction industry
- Completion of a carpentry apprenticeship program or equivalent certification
- Proficiency in reading and interpreting blueprints and technical drawings
- Strong knowledge of building codes and regulations in Alberta
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
Desired Skills:
- Experience with concrete work and formwork
- Knowledge of sustainable building practices
- Certification in first aid and workplace safety
- Proficiency in using carpentry tools and equipment
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in workmanship
Compensation & Benefits:
The annual salary range for the Carpenter position at Ledcor in Airdrie, Alberta, is between $50,000 to $70,000 CAD, commensurate with experience and qualifications.
