Key Responsibilities for Compliance Accountant:
- Perform detailed compliance reviews to ensure adherence to regulatory requirements and internal policies
- Develop and implement compliance procedures and controls to mitigate risks
- Monitor changes in laws and regulations affecting financial reporting and ensure timely compliance
- Prepare and submit regulatory filings and reports accurately and on time
- Collaborate with internal teams to address compliance issues and provide guidance on best practices
- Assist in audits and investigations related to compliance matters
- Stay current on industry trends and best practices in compliance accounting
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
- CPA certification or actively pursuing CPA
- 3+ years of experience in compliance accounting or a similar role
- Strong understanding of GAAP and regulatory compliance requirements
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting software
- Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks effectively
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in work
Desired Skills:
- Master's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
- Experience in the financial services industry
- Knowledge of SOX compliance and internal controls
- Familiarity with audit procedures and methodologies
- Effective communication skills to collaborate with cross-functional teams
- Ability to adapt to changing regulatory environments
Compensation & Benefits:
The annual salary range for the Compliance Accountant position at CLA in Boston, Massachusetts is $65,000 - $85,000, commensurate with experience and qualifications.
