Key Responsibilities for Controller:
- Oversee all aspects of financial management, including financial reporting, budgeting, and forecasting.
- Manage the accounting team to ensure accurate and timely financial information.
- Develop and maintain internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure compliance with regulations.
- Analyze financial data to provide insights and recommendations for strategic decision-making.
- Coordinate with external auditors and tax advisors to support audit and tax compliance requirements.
- Drive process improvements to enhance efficiency and effectiveness in financial operations.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA certification preferred.
- Minimum of 7 years of progressive experience in accounting and finance roles.
- Strong knowledge of US GAAP and financial reporting requirements.
- Experience managing a team and working cross-functionally with various departments.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with a keen attention to detail.
- Proficiency in financial software and advanced Excel skills.
Desired Skills:
- Experience in public accounting or audit background.
- Master's degree in Accounting or Finance.
- Knowledge of industry-specific regulations and standards.
- Ability to adapt to a fast-paced, changing environment.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Compensation & Benefits:
The annual salary range for the Controller position at BDO USA in Charleston, South Carolina is $110,000 - $140,000, commensurate with experience and qualifications.
