Key Responsibilities for Database Administrator:
- Design, implement, and maintain database systems to ensure data availability and security
- Monitor database performance and troubleshoot any issues that arise
- Develop and implement backup and recovery plans to prevent data loss
- Collaborate with IT teams to ensure database systems align with overall technology infrastructure
- Perform regular database maintenance tasks, such as updates and patches
- Create and maintain documentation related to database configuration and processes
Required Qualifications:
- Proven experience as a Database Administrator or in a similar role
- Strong knowledge of database management systems, such as Oracle, SQL Server, or MySQL
- Proficiency in SQL query language and database design principles
- Understanding of data security and privacy regulations
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field
Desired Skills:
- Certification in database administration (e.g., Oracle Certified Professional)
- Experience with cloud-based database services, such as AWS RDS or Azure SQL Database
- Familiarity with data warehousing concepts and tools
- Knowledge of scripting languages, such as Python or PowerShell
- Ability to work independently and in a team environment
Compensation & Benefits:
Salary Range: £35,000 - £45,000 per annum, depending on experience and qualifications
