Key Responsibilities for Financial Reporting Specialist:
- Prepare and analyze financial statements in compliance with GAAP and regulatory requirements
- Assist in the preparation of SEC filings, including 10-Ks and 10-Qs
- Conduct research on accounting issues and provide recommendations for resolution
- Collaborate with internal teams to ensure accurate and timely financial reporting
- Assist with audit processes and respond to auditor inquiries
- Stay current on accounting standards and regulatory changes affecting financial reporting
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance
- CPA certification or in progress
- 3+ years of experience in financial reporting or public accounting
- Strong knowledge of GAAP and SEC reporting requirements
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and financial reporting software
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
- Strong attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines
Desired Skills:
- Master's degree in Accounting or Finance
- Experience with Big 4 accounting firms
- Knowledge of IFRS and SOX compliance
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Compensation & Benefits:
The annual salary range for the Financial Reporting Specialist position at BDO USA in Chicago, Illinois is $70,000 - $90,000, commensurate with experience.
