Key Responsibilities for Freight Forwarder:
- Coordinate and manage the transportation of goods via road, rail, air, or sea, ensuring timely delivery and adherence to regulations
- Liaise with clients, suppliers, and carriers to arrange shipments and resolve any issues that may arise during transit
- Prepare and process documentation such as shipping orders, invoices, and customs clearance paperwork
- Monitor shipment progress, track deliveries, and communicate updates to stakeholders
- Negotiate rates with carriers and suppliers to secure cost-effective transportation solutions
- Stay up-to-date with industry regulations, market trends, and best practices in freight forwarding
Required Qualifications:
- Proven experience as a Freight Forwarder or in a similar logistics role
- Knowledge of transportation regulations, customs procedures, and documentation requirements
- Strong organisational skills and attention to detail to manage multiple shipments simultaneously
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to interact effectively with diverse stakeholders
- Proficiency in using freight management software and MS Office applications

- Professional certification in logistics or supply chain management
- Experience in negotiating contracts and managing vendor relationships
- Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines
- Knowledge of international trade laws and regulations
Compensation & Benefits:
The annual salary range for the Freight Forwarder position at Transport for London in Blackpool, North West England, is £25,000 to £30,000, commensurate with experience and qualifications.
