Key Responsibilities for GL Accounting Supervisor:
- Oversee the day-to-day operations of the General Ledger (GL) accounting team
- Ensure accurate and timely month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes
- Review and approve journal entries, account reconciliations, and financial reports
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders to support financial audits and compliance requirements
- Identify opportunities for process improvements and implement best practices in GL accounting
- Mentor and develop team members to enhance their skills and performance
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
- CPA certification preferred
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in GL accounting or financial reporting
- Strong knowledge of US GAAP and accounting principles
- Proficiency in ERP systems and advanced MS Excel skills
- Excellent analytical, communication, and leadership abilities
Desired Skills:
- Experience with Oracle or SAP systems
- Previous experience in a supervisory role
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
- Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills
Compensation & Benefits:
The GL Accounting Supervisor position at Grant Thornton offers a competitive annual salary range of $80,000 to $100,000, commensurate with experience and qualifications.
