Position Summary
The Interior Designer will work remotely to conceptualize, develop, and execute interior design solutions for Kinder Morgan’s hospitality projects, including hotels, restaurants, and branded spaces. This role blends creative vision with functional expertise, ensuring that each environment reflects the company’s brand identity while delivering exceptional customer experiences. The designer will collaborate with cross‑functional teams, vendors, and stakeholders to manage the full design lifecycle from concept through installation.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop design concepts, mood boards, and space plans that align with Kinder Morgan’s branding and thematic goals for hotel and restaurant projects.
- Lead the selection and specification of FF&E (furniture, fixtures, and equipment) to meet aesthetic, durability, and budget requirements.
- Integrate hospitality interior design principles to enhance guest comfort, operational efficiency, and overall customer experience.
- Coordinate with architects, engineers, project managers, and vendors to ensure seamless execution of design intent.
- Prepare detailed drawings, renderings, and presentation materials for internal review and client approvals.
- Manage project timelines, budgets, and procurement processes, ensuring adherence to schedule and cost targets.
- Conduct site visits (virtual or in‑person) to monitor installation quality and resolve design issues promptly.
- Stay current with industry trends, sustainable design practices, and emerging materials to continuously elevate design standards.
Required Qualifications
- 2 to 15 years of professional interior design experience, with a focus on hospitality environments such as hotels and restaurants.
- Demonstrated expertise in branding and theme integration within interior spaces.
- Proven ability to select and specify FF&E that balances aesthetics, functionality, and cost.
- Strong portfolio showcasing successful hospitality projects and customer experience design.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to articulate design concepts to diverse audiences.
- Proficiency in design software such as AutoCAD, Revit, SketchUp, and Adobe Creative Suite.
- Self‑motivated and capable of managing multiple remote projects simultaneously.
Required Education
A bachelor’s degree or higher in Interior Design, Architecture, Environmental Design, or a related field is preferred. Candidates with equivalent professional experience and a strong portfolio will also be considered.
Desired Skills
- Knowledge of sustainable design certifications (LEED, WELL) and green material sourcing.
- Experience with 3D rendering and virtual reality presentation tools.
- Familiarity with hospitality operational workflows and regulatory standards.
- Project management certification (PMP, CAPM) or related training.
- Ability to collaborate effectively across geographically dispersed teams.
Compensation & Benefits
The position offers a competitive annual salary ranging from $65,000 to $100,000, commensurate with experience and qualifications.
