Position Summary

ActiveCampaign is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Lead Contracts Manager specializing in Employment Law to join our growing legal team. This is a fully remote position, offering the opportunity to work from anywhere in the USA. As the Lead Contracts Manager, you will be responsible for drafting, reviewing, negotiating, and managing a wide range of employment-related contracts, ensuring compliance with applicable laws and regulations. You will also play a key role in developing and implementing contract management processes and providing legal guidance to internal stakeholders. This role reports to the Assistant General Counsel.

Key Responsibilities

  • Draft, review, negotiate, and manage employment agreements, separation agreements, independent contractor agreements, consulting agreements, and other employment-related contracts.
  • Ensure all contracts comply with applicable federal, state, and local laws and regulations.
  • Develop and implement contract management processes and procedures to improve efficiency and accuracy.
  • Maintain a central repository of contracts and ensure contracts are easily accessible to authorized personnel.
  • Provide legal guidance and support to HR, management, and other internal stakeholders on employment-related matters.
  • Conduct legal research and stay up-to-date on changes in employment law.
  • Assist with internal investigations and respond to employment-related inquiries.
  • Manage and maintain relationships with outside counsel.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of company policies and procedures.
  • Participate in virtual team meetings and collaborate with colleagues across different time zones.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree required. Paralegal certification or equivalent experience preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience as a Contracts Manager with a focus on Employment Law.
  • Strong knowledge of federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations.
  • Excellent drafting, negotiation, and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Proficiency in using contract management software and other relevant tools.
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a remote environment.
  • Must be a self-starter and able to work with minimal supervision.

Technical Requirements

To be successful in this remote role, you will need:

  • A dedicated home office space free from distractions.
  • A reliable high-speed internet connection with a minimum download speed of 50 Mbps and upload speed of 10 Mbps.
  • A personal computer with webcam and microphone.
  • Proficiency in using video conferencing tools such as Zoom or Google Meet.
  • Ability to work within the Central Time Zone (CT) business hours, or similar time zone overlap.

Desired Skills

  • Experience with contract lifecycle management (CLM) systems.
  • Familiarity with SaaS business models.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with a distributed team using tools like Slack, Asana, and Google Workspace.
  • Experience in training and mentoring other team members.

Compensation & Benefits
