Position Summary

Squarespace is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Lead Data Architect - Predictive Modeling to join our growing Data & Analytics team. This is a fully remote position, offering the opportunity to work from anywhere within the United States. As a Lead Data Architect, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and implementing scalable and robust data solutions to support our predictive modeling initiatives. You will collaborate closely with data scientists, engineers, and product managers to build and maintain a world-class data infrastructure that drives data-informed decision-making and powers innovative features for our users. This role will be a critical part of Squarespace's strategic growth and product development.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the design and implementation of data architectures for predictive modeling, ensuring scalability, reliability, and performance.
  • Develop and maintain data pipelines for ingestion, transformation, and storage of large datasets.
  • Collaborate with data scientists to understand their data needs and translate them into technical solutions.
  • Define and enforce data governance policies and standards to ensure data quality and consistency.
  • Evaluate and recommend new technologies and tools to improve our data infrastructure.
  • Mentor and guide junior data architects and engineers.
  • Work with cross-functional teams to integrate data solutions into production systems.
  • Proactively identify opportunities to improve data accessibility and usability.
  • Participate in virtual team meetings, code reviews, and knowledge-sharing sessions.
  • Contribute to the development of documentation and best practices for data architecture.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Data Science, or a related field.
  • 8+ years of experience in data architecture, with a focus on supporting predictive modeling.
  • Strong understanding of data modeling principles and techniques.
  • Proficiency in SQL and experience with relational databases (e.g., PostgreSQL, MySQL).
  • Experience with cloud-based data platforms (e.g., AWS, Google Cloud, Azure).
  • Experience building and maintaining data pipelines using tools like Apache Spark, Apache Kafka, or similar.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in a remote team environment.
  • Proven ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Must be a resident of the United States.
  • Demonstrated ability to thrive in a remote work environment, including self-motivation, time management, and proactive communication.

Technical Requirements

As a fully remote employee, you are responsible for maintaining a suitable home office environment that meets the following technical requirements:

  • High-Speed Internet: A reliable high-speed internet connection with a minimum upload speed of 10 Mbps and download speed of 50 Mbps.

  • Communication Tools: Proficiency in using remote collaboration tools such as Slack, Zoom, and Google Workspace.
  • Time Zone: Must be able to overlap working hours with the Eastern Time Zone (ET) for effective team collaboration.

Compensation & Benefits

The annual salary range for this fully remote Lead Data Architect - Predictive Modeling position at Squarespace is $170,000 - $220,000, commensurate with experience and location. We also offer a comprehensive benefits package, including:
