Position Summary
White & Case is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Lead Data Architect β Predictive Modeling to join our growing remote data & analytics team. This is a fully remote position, allowing you to work from anywhere in the USA. In this role, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and implementing data architectures and predictive modeling solutions that drive strategic decision-making across the firm. You will lead a team of data scientists and engineers, ensuring the effective use of data to improve business processes, identify opportunities, and mitigate risks. The ideal candidate possesses a strong background in data architecture, machine learning, and statistical modeling, as well as excellent leadership and communication skills.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the design and development of scalable and robust data architectures to support predictive modeling initiatives.
- Oversee the development and implementation of machine learning models for various business applications, including risk management, client relationship management, and legal research.
- Collaborate with stakeholders across the firm to understand their data needs and translate them into actionable solutions.
- Manage a team of data scientists and engineers, providing technical guidance and mentorship.
- Ensure the quality and accuracy of data used in predictive models.
- Stay up-to-date with the latest advancements in data architecture, machine learning, and statistical modeling.
- Develop and maintain documentation for data architectures and predictive models.
- Contribute to the development of data governance policies and procedures.
- Participate in virtual team meetings and collaboration sessions.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, or a related field; Master's degree preferred.
- 8+ years of experience in data architecture and predictive modeling.
- Proven experience in leading and managing data science teams.
- Strong understanding of data warehousing concepts, data modeling techniques, and database technologies (e.g., SQL, NoSQL).
- Proficiency in programming languages such as Python or R.
- Experience with machine learning frameworks such as TensorFlow or PyTorch.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a remote environment.
- Must reside in the USA and have the ability to work remotely.
- Strong self-management and time-management skills are essential for remote work success.
Technical Requirements
To ensure a seamless remote work experience, the following technical requirements must be met:
- Dedicated home office space free from distractions.
- High-speed internet connection with a minimum download speed of 50 Mbps and upload speed of 10 Mbps.
- Reliable computer system with sufficient processing power and memory to support data analysis and modeling tasks.
- Headset with microphone for virtual meetings.
- Ability to participate in meetings during standard US business hours (Eastern Time preferred).
- White & Case provides a home office stipend to assist with setting up your remote workspace.
Desired Skills
- Experience with cloud-based data platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP.
- Familiarity with legal industry data and processes.
- Experience with data visualization tools such as Tableau or Power BI.
- Knowledge of data governance principles and practices.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Excellent collaboration skills using tools like Slack, Microsoft Teams, and Zoom.
Compensation & Benefits
The annual salary range for this remote position is $180,000 - $240,000, commensurate with experience and qualifications.

We also offer flexible working hours to accommodate individual needs and preferences. While occasional travel may be required for team meetups (approximately 1-2 times per year), the majority of your work will be conducted remotely.
