Key Responsibilities for Learning Support Assistant:
- Assist teachers in delivering tailored learning activities for students with special educational needs (SEN).
- Provide one-to-one support for students who require additional help in the classroom.
- Help create and implement individual education plans (IEPs) for students with SEN.
- Support students with their emotional and social development.
- Assist in maintaining a safe and inclusive learning environment for all students.
Required Qualifications:
- Minimum of a Level 2 qualification in Supporting Teaching and Learning in Schools or equivalent.
- Previous experience working with children or young people in an educational setting.
- Knowledge of safeguarding procedures and child protection policies.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a team.
Desired Skills:
- Experience working with students with specific learning difficulties, such as dyslexia or autism.
- Understanding of different learning styles and the ability to adapt teaching methods accordingly.
- Additional qualifications in special educational needs (SEN) support or related fields.
- First aid training or certification would be advantageous.
Compensation & Benefits:
The salary range for the Learning Support Assistant position at State Schools is between £18,000 to £22,000 per annum, depending on experience and qualifications.
