Key Responsibilities for Librarian:
- Manage and organize library collections, including books, journals, and digital resources
- Assist students, faculty, and researchers with research inquiries and information retrieval
- Develop and implement library programs and services to support academic and research needs
- Collaborate with faculty to provide instructional sessions on information literacy and research skills
- Stay current with emerging trends in library science and information technology
- Catalog and classify library materials using standard classification systems
- Participate in library committees and working groups to contribute to library initiatives
Required Qualifications:
- Master's degree in Library and Information Science from an ALA-accredited program
- Experience working in an academic library setting
- Strong knowledge of library systems and cataloging standards
- Excellent research and reference skills
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work effectively in a team-based environment
- Commitment to providing exceptional customer service
Desired Skills:
- Experience with digital repositories and electronic resources management

Compensation & Benefits:
The annual salary range for the Librarian position at McGill University in Kelowna, British Columbia, is between $60,000 to $80,000 CAD, commensurate with experience and qualifications.
