Key Responsibilities for Logistics Coordinator:
- Coordinate and monitor transportation and logistics activities to ensure efficient movement of goods and materials
- Liaise with suppliers, carriers, and internal teams to schedule and track shipments
- Manage inventory levels and warehouse operations to optimize supply chain efficiency
- Prepare shipping documents and customs paperwork in compliance with regulations
- Resolve any transportation or logistics issues that may arise during the shipping process
- Utilize transportation management systems to track shipments and analyze performance metrics
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to streamline logistics processes and improve supply chain performance
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or a related field
- Proven experience in logistics coordination, preferably in the transportation industry
- Strong knowledge of transportation regulations and customs procedures
- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
- Ability to prioritize tasks and work effectively in a fast-paced environment
- Proficiency in using transportation management systems and MS Office applications
Desired Skills:
- Certification in Logistics or Supply Chain Management
- Experience with international shipping and customs clearance
- Knowledge of Lean or Six Sigma principles for process improvement
- Ability to analyze data and generate reports to support logistics decision-making
- Familiarity with inventory management best practices
Compensation & Benefits:
The annual salary range for the Logistics Coordinator position at WestJet in Burnaby, British Columbia, Canada, is between $50,000 to $65,000 CAD, commensurate with experience and qualifications.
