Key Responsibilities for Loss Prevention Officer:
- Implement and maintain effective security measures to prevent theft and protect company assets
- Monitor and patrol assigned areas to deter suspicious activities and ensure a safe shopping environment
- Conduct internal and external investigations on theft, fraud, and other security-related incidents
- Collaborate with store management and law enforcement agencies to resolve security issues and minimize risks
- Prepare detailed reports on security incidents, investigations, and preventative measures
- Assist in training staff on security protocols and best practices to enhance loss prevention efforts
Required Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Valid Security Guard License issued by the New Brunswick Department of Justice and Public Safety
- Proven experience in loss prevention, security, or related field
- Sound knowledge of security protocols, CCTV systems, and theft prevention techniques
- Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively in a team environment
- Ability to handle stressful situations with composure and professionalism
- Flexibility to work varying shifts, including weekends and evenings
Desired Skills:
- First Aid/CPR certification
- Proficiency in using Microsoft Office applications
- Bilingual in English and French
- Experience with inventory control systems
Compensation & Benefits:
The annual salary range for the Loss Prevention Officer position at Canadian Tire in Saint John, New Brunswick, is between $35,000 to $45,000 CAD, commensurate with experience and qualifications.
