Position Summary As a Mechanical Engineer at Expeditors International of Washington, you will play a critical role in designing, analyzing, and improving mechanical systems, with a focus on HVAC systems and equipment. This remote position requires a detail-oriented professional with strong problem-solving abilities and expertise in AutoCAD and HVAC design. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure projects meet technical, safety, and regulatory standards. Key Responsibilities Design and develop HVAC systems and mechanical equipment using AutoCAD and other engineering tools. Conduct feasibility studies and performance analyses for mechanical systems. Collaborate with project teams to ensure designs meet client specifications and industry standards. Troubleshoot and resolve mechanical system issues, providing innovative solutions. Oversee installation, testing, and maintenance of HVAC systems to ensure optimal performance. Prepare technical documentation, including schematics, reports, and project plans. Stay updated on industry trends, regulations, and emerging technologies. Required Qualifications 4 to 15 years of experience in mechanical engineering, with a focus on HVAC systems. Proficiency in AutoCAD for mechanical design and drafting. Strong knowledge of HVAC system design, installation, and maintenance. Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail. Ability to work independently in a remote environment while collaborating with teams. Strong communication skills for technical documentation and team coordination. Required Education Others: A degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field is preferred, but equivalent experience and certifications will be considered. Desired Skills Experience with energy-efficient HVAC system design. Familiarity with Building Information Modeling (BIM) software. Knowledge of industry standards such as ASHRAE and NFPA. Project management experience is a plus. Compensation & Benefits Expeditors International of Washington offers a competitive salary range of $59,000 to $102,000 annually, based on experience and qualifications.
