Position Summary
As a Mechanical Engineer at Expeditors International of Washington, you will play a critical role in designing, analyzing, and improving mechanical systems, with a focus on HVAC systems and equipment. This remote position requires a detail-oriented professional with strong problem-solving abilities and expertise in AutoCAD and HVAC design. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure projects meet technical, safety, and regulatory standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and develop HVAC systems and mechanical equipment using AutoCAD and other engineering tools.
- Conduct feasibility studies and performance analyses for mechanical systems.
- Collaborate with project teams to ensure designs meet client specifications and industry standards.
- Troubleshoot and resolve mechanical system issues, providing innovative solutions.
- Oversee installation, testing, and maintenance of HVAC systems to ensure optimal performance.
- Prepare technical documentation, including schematics, reports, and project plans.
- Stay updated on industry trends, regulations, and emerging technologies.
Required Qualifications
- 4 to 15 years of experience in mechanical engineering, with a focus on HVAC systems.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD for mechanical design and drafting.
- Strong knowledge of HVAC system design, installation, and maintenance.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently in a remote environment while collaborating with teams.
- Strong communication skills for technical documentation and team coordination.
Required Education
Others: A degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field is preferred, but equivalent experience and certifications will be considered.
Desired Skills
- Experience with energy-efficient HVAC system design.
- Familiarity with Building Information Modeling (BIM) software.
- Knowledge of industry standards such as ASHRAE and NFPA.
- Project management experience is a plus.
Compensation & Benefits
Expeditors International of Washington offers a competitive salary range of $59,000 to $102,000 annually, based on experience and qualifications.
