Key Responsibilities for Medical Office Administrator:
- Manage the daily operations of the medical office, including scheduling appointments, handling patient inquiries, and maintaining medical records.
- Coordinate with healthcare providers to ensure seamless patient care and efficient clinic workflows.
- Process billing and insurance claims accurately and in compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Maintain inventory of office and medical supplies, and liaise with vendors for procurement.
- Assist in the onboarding and training of new office staff, and support team collaboration.
Required Qualifications:
- Diploma or degree in Medical Office Administration or related field.
- Minimum 2 years of experience working in a medical office setting.
- Proficiency in medical terminology, billing systems, and electronic health records (EHR).
- Strong communication skills and the ability to interact professionally with patients and healthcare professionals.
- Knowledge of privacy regulations such as PHIPA and HIPAA.
Desired Skills:
- Certification as a Medical Office Assistant (MOA) or Certified Medical Administrative Assistant (CMAA).
- Experience with EMR systems such as Meditech or Epic.
- Bilingual proficiency in English and French.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to multitask and prioritize tasks effectively.
Compensation & Benefits:
The annual salary range for the Medical Office Administrator position at Fraser Health Authority in Montreal, Quebec, Canada, is between $45,000 to $55,000 CAD, commensurate with experience and qualifications.
