Key Responsibilities for Patient Services Coordinator:
- Coordinate patient appointments, admissions, and discharges efficiently
- Serve as the primary point of contact for patients, families, and healthcare providers
- Manage patient records and ensure accuracy and confidentiality
- Assist with insurance verification and billing processes
- Collaborate with clinical staff to ensure seamless patient care delivery
- Provide exceptional customer service and address patient inquiries and concerns promptly
- Schedule follow-up appointments and referrals as needed
- Support patient education initiatives and promote wellness programs
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment in patient service areas
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Healthcare Administration or related field
- Proven experience in a healthcare setting, preferably in patient services or administration
- Strong understanding of medical terminology and healthcare operations
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Proficiency in electronic health record systems and MS Office Suite
- Ability to multitask, prioritize, and work effectively in a fast-paced environment
- Attention to detail and commitment to maintaining patient confidentiality
- Knowledge of insurance verification processes and billing procedures
Desired Skills:
- Certification in Healthcare Administration or related field
- Experience with Epic or other electronic medical record systems
- Bilingual proficiency in Spanish or other languages
- Knowledge of healthcare compliance regulations and standards
- Strong problem-solving abilities and conflict resolution skills
Compensation & Benefits:
The annual salary range for the Patient Services Coordinator position at Ascension Health in Louisville, Kentucky is $45,000 to $55,000, commensurate with experience and qualifications.
