Key Responsibilities for Policy Analyst:
- Conduct thorough research and analysis on various policy issues affecting the province
- Develop policy recommendations based on evidence-based research and stakeholder consultations
- Collaborate with government departments and external stakeholders to gather data and insights
- Prepare comprehensive reports, briefs, and presentations for senior management and government officials
- Monitor and evaluate the implementation of policies to assess their effectiveness and impact
- Stay informed about current trends, best practices, and legislative changes in the policy landscape
- Provide expert advice and support to decision-makers on policy matters
Required Qualifications:
- A Bachelor's degree in Public Policy, Political Science, Economics, or a related field
- Proven experience in policy analysis, research, or government affairs
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data and information
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Proficiency in conducting policy research and drafting reports
- Knowledge of government structures, processes, and policy development frameworks
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment
Desired Skills:
- Master's degree in Public Policy, Public Administration, or a related field
- Experience working in a government or public service setting
- Familiarity with statistical analysis and data visualization tools
- Project management skills with the ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously
- Understanding of regulatory compliance and governance principles
Compensation & Benefits:
The Province of Alberta offers a competitive salary range for the position of Policy Analyst, ranging from $60,000 to $80,000 per year, commensurate with experience and qualifications.
