Key Responsibilities for Procurement Assistant:
- Support the procurement team in sourcing goods and services, obtaining quotes, and negotiating contracts with vendors
- Assist in maintaining procurement records, including purchase orders, contracts, and supplier information
- Coordinate with internal stakeholders to understand their procurement needs and provide timely support and solutions
- Conduct market research to identify potential suppliers and maintain a database of vendors
- Assist in evaluating supplier performance and compliance with contractual agreements
- Participate in supplier meetings and support in resolving any procurement-related issues
- Assist in analyzing procurement data and generating reports for management review

Required Qualifications:
- Diploma or degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or a related field
- 1-2 years of experience in procurement, purchasing, or supply chain management
- Strong understanding of procurement processes, contract management, and vendor relationship management
- Proficiency in MS Office applications, particularly Excel and Word
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills

Desired Skills:
- Experience with procurement software or ERP systems
- Knowledge of financial analysis and budgeting
- Certification in procurement or supply chain management (e.g., CPP, SCMP)
- Ability to speak French or other languages is an asset

Compensation & Benefits:
The annual salary range for the Procurement Assistant position at Scotiabank in Hamilton, Ontario, Canada is between $45,000 to $55,000 CAD, commensurate with experience and qualifications.
