Key Responsibilities for Program Officer:
- Develop and implement programs and initiatives to address community needs and enhance citizen engagement.
- Collaborate with internal departments and external stakeholders to ensure program effectiveness and alignment with organizational goals.
- Conduct research, analyze data, and prepare reports to evaluate program outcomes and recommend improvements.
- Monitor program budgets, expenditures, and performance indicators to ensure efficient resource allocation and program success.
- Provide guidance and support to program staff, volunteers, and partners to facilitate program delivery and achieve desired outcomes.
- Stay informed about industry trends, best practices, and regulations to inform program development and decision-making processes.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Public Administration, Social Sciences, or related field.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in program management or community development within a government or nonprofit organization.
- Strong understanding of government policies, procedures, and regulations related to program delivery and community engagement.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to engage with diverse stakeholders and convey complex information effectively.
- Proficiency in data analysis, reporting, and project management tools to track program performance and outcomes.
Desired Skills:
- Bilingual proficiency in English and French.
- Certification in Project Management or Community Development.
- Experience working in a multicultural environment and engaging with diverse communities.
- Knowledge of grant writing, funding opportunities, and partnership development.
- Ability to adapt to changing priorities, work independently, and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
Compensation & Benefits:
The City of Montreal offers a competitive salary range for the Program Officer position, ranging from $60,000 to $75,000 CAD per year, commensurate with experience and qualifications.
