Key Responsibilities For Program Officer:
- Develop and implement programs related to public health initiatives and policies
- Conduct research and analysis to support program development and evaluation
- Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to promote health and wellness initiatives
- Monitor and report on program outcomes and make recommendations for improvements
- Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and government standards
- Manage program budgets and resources effectively
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Public Health, Health Sciences, or a related field
- 2+ years of experience in program management or public health administration
- Knowledge of Canadian health policies, regulations, and public health issues
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite and data analysis tools
Desired Skills:
- Master's degree in Public Health or related field
- Experience working in a government or public service environment
- Project management certification (e.g., PMP)
- Knowledge of epidemiology and biostatistics
- Ability to speak French is an asset
Compensation & Benefits:
The annual salary range for the Program Officer position at Health Canada in Brampton, Ontario, is between $60,000 to $80,000 CAD, commensurate with experience and qualifications.
