Key Responsibilities for Property Accountant:
- Manage all aspects of property accounting for assigned portfolios
- Perform month-end close activities including journal entries, reconciliations, and financial reporting
- Analyze financial data, monitor property performance, and provide insights to stakeholders
- Prepare annual budgets, forecasts, and variance analyses for properties
- Collaborate with property management teams to ensure accurate financial reporting
- Assist in the preparation of audit schedules and support audit processes
- Stay updated on industry trends, regulations, and accounting standards related to property accounting
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
- 2+ years of experience in property accounting or real estate finance
- Proficiency in MS Excel and accounting software
- Strong understanding of GAAP and financial reporting principles
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
- Ability to prioritize tasks, meet deadlines, and work independently or as part of a team
- Strong communication skills to interact effectively with internal and external stakeholders
Desired Skills:
- CPA or progress towards certification
- Experience with Yardi or other property management software
- Knowledge of lease accounting standards (e.g., ASC 842)
- Ability to interpret complex lease agreements and property documents
- Detail-oriented with a focus on accuracy and data integrity
Compensation & Benefits:
The annual salary range for the Property Accountant position at Deloitte in Wichita, Kansas is $55,000 to $75,000, commensurate with experience and qualifications.
