Key Responsibilities for Property Accountant:
- Manage and oversee financial activities related to the company's property portfolio
- Perform monthly reconciliations of property accounts and ensure accuracy of financial data
- Prepare financial reports, budgets, and forecasts for property assets
- Coordinate with property managers and stakeholders to analyze financial performance and provide insights
- Assist in the development and implementation of accounting policies and procedures for property transactions
- Monitor lease agreements, rent collections, and property tax assessments
- Participate in audits and provide necessary documentation to auditors
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
- CPA certification or in the process of obtaining it
- 3+ years of experience in property accounting or real estate finance
- Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel
- Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting standards
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks effectively
Desired Skills:
- Experience with Yardi or other property management software
- Knowledge of lease accounting principles and regulations
- Understanding of tax implications related to property transactions
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Detail-oriented with a high level of accuracy in financial data
Compensation & Benefits:
The annual salary range for the Property Accountant position at EY in Hartford, Connecticut is $65,000 - $85,000, commensurate with experience and qualifications.
