Key Responsibilities For Property Accountant:
- Manage all aspects of property accounting, including financial reporting, budgeting, and forecasting for real estate assets
- Perform monthly reconciliations of property-related accounts and ensure accuracy of financial data
- Collaborate with property management teams to analyze variances and address any discrepancies
- Prepare and review property financial statements in compliance with GAAP standards
- Assist in the preparation of annual property budgets and forecasts
- Support audit processes by providing necessary documentation and explanations
- Maintain fixed asset records and depreciation schedules for properties
- Monitor lease agreements and ensure accurate rent calculations and payments
- Participate in special projects and initiatives as needed
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
- 3+ years of experience in property accounting or real estate finance
- Solid understanding of GAAP principles and financial reporting
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting software
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
- Detail-oriented with a high level of accuracy and organization
Desired Skills:
- CPA certification or progress towards certification
- Experience with Yardi or other property management software
- Knowledge of lease accounting standards (e.g., ASC 842)
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
- Team player with a proactive attitude towards continuous improvement
Compensation & Benefits:
The annual salary range for the Property Accountant position at Oracle NetSuite in Charleston, West Virginia is $60,000 - $80,000, commensurate with experience.
