Position Summary:
Toptal is seeking a talented Remote Backend Developer to join our distributed team. As a Backend Developer, you will play a crucial role in designing, developing, and maintaining scalable backend systems that power our platform. This is a fully remote position, offering the opportunity to work from the comfort of your home while collaborating with a diverse team of professionals.

Key Responsibilities:
- Design, develop, and deploy backend services and APIs
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define, design, and ship new features
- Optimize and refactor existing code for improved performance and scalability
- Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues in a timely manner
- Stay up-to-date with industry best practices and emerging technologies

Required Qualifications:
- Proven experience as a Backend Developer or similar role
- Strong proficiency in backend programming languages such as Python, Node.js, or Java
- Experience with database management systems (e.g., MySQL, MongoDB)
- Solid understanding of RESTful APIs and microservices architecture
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work independently in a remote setting

Compensation & Benefits:
We offer a competitive annual salary range of $90,000 - $120,000 for this remote position, commensurate with experience. Travel requirements for occasional team meetups may apply.
