Key Responsibilities for Restaurant Manager:
- Oversee daily operations of the hotel's restaurant, including managing staff, ensuring high-quality service, and maintaining cleanliness and hygiene standards
- Develop and implement strategies to drive revenue growth, such as creating promotions and optimizing menu offerings
- Train and mentor restaurant staff to deliver excellent customer service and uphold Westin's brand standards
- Monitor inventory levels, place orders with suppliers, and manage food costs to maximize profitability
- Collaborate with the culinary team to design seasonal menus and special event offerings
- Handle customer inquiries, feedback, and complaints in a professional and timely manner
Required Qualifications:
- 3+ years of experience in restaurant management, preferably in a high-end dining establishment
- Proven track record of leading a team to deliver exceptional service and achieve revenue targets
- Strong understanding of food and beverage operations, including inventory management and cost control
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to interact with staff, customers, and suppliers effectively
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, prioritize tasks, and make sound decisions under pressure
- Valid Food Safety Certification and knowledge of health and safety regulations
Desired Skills:
- Diploma or degree in Hospitality Management or related field
- Experience working in a luxury hotel or upscale restaurant setting
- Proficiency in restaurant management software for scheduling, inventory, and POS systems
- Multilingual abilities to cater to a diverse clientele
- Certification in responsible alcohol service training (e.g., Serving It Right)
Compensation & Benefits:
The annual salary range for the Restaurant Manager position at Westin Hotels in Burnaby, British Columbia, is between $55,000 to $70,000 CAD, commensurate with experience.
