Key Responsibilities For Safety Officer:
- Develop, implement, and maintain safety programs and policies in accordance with local regulations and company standards.
- Conduct regular site inspections to identify and address potential safety hazards.
- Provide safety training to employees and contractors on proper procedures and protocols.
- Investigate accidents and incidents to determine root causes and recommend preventive measures.
- Collaborate with project managers and site supervisors to ensure compliance with safety regulations.
- Keep abreast of industry best practices and update safety procedures as needed.

Required Qualifications:
- Certificate or diploma in Occupational Health and Safety or related field.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in a similar role within the construction industry.
- Working knowledge of Alberta Occupational Health and Safety regulations.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Desired Skills:
- Certification as a Canadian Registered Safety Professional (CRSP) or equivalent.
- Experience with incident investigation and reporting.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
- Knowledge of environmental health and safety management systems.

Compensation & Benefits:
The annual salary range for the Safety Officer position at WSP Global in Red Deer, Alberta, Canada is between $55,000 to $75,000 CAD, commensurate with experience and qualifications.
