Position Summary

Shopify is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Senior Operations Analyst specializing in Data Visualization to join our growing team. As a Senior Operations Analyst - Data Visualization, you will be responsible for translating complex data into clear, concise, and actionable insights through compelling visualizations. This is a fully remote position, allowing you to work from anywhere in the USA. You will play a critical role in supporting data-driven decision-making across various departments within Shopify, contributing to our mission of making commerce better for everyone.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain interactive dashboards and reports using data visualization tools like Tableau, Looker, or similar platforms.
• Gather and analyze data from various sources to identify trends, patterns, and opportunities for improvement.
• Collaborate with stakeholders across different teams (e.g., product, marketing, sales, support) to understand their data needs and translate them into effective visualizations.
• Develop and maintain data documentation, including data dictionaries and data lineage diagrams.
• Ensure data accuracy and integrity by implementing data quality checks and validation processes.
• Present data insights and recommendations to stakeholders through presentations and reports.
• Proactively identify opportunities to improve data visualization practices and processes.
• Contribute to the development of data visualization standards and best practices.
• Participate in virtual team meetings and contribute to a collaborative remote work environment.
• Mentor junior analysts and provide guidance on data visualization techniques.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a quantitative field (e.g., statistics, mathematics, computer science, economics) or equivalent experience.
• 5+ years of experience in data analysis and visualization.
• Proficiency in using data visualization tools such as Tableau, Looker, or similar platforms.
• Strong SQL skills for data extraction and manipulation.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to communicate complex data insights effectively to both technical and non-technical audiences.
• Experience working with large datasets.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously in a remote environment.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills, essential for remote teamwork.
• Proven ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.

Technical Requirements

As a remote employee, you will be responsible for maintaining a suitable home office environment. This includes:

• A dedicated workspace free from distractions.
• A reliable high-speed internet connection (minimum 50 Mbps download / 10 Mbps upload).
• A personal computer with sufficient processing power and memory to run data analysis and visualization software.
• A webcam and microphone for video conferencing.
• Ability to work during core business hours (Eastern Time Zone preferred) to facilitate collaboration with team members.

Compensation & Benefits

The annual salary range for this remote Senior Operations Analyst - Data Visualization position is $120,000 - $160,000, commensurate with experience and location. We also offer a comprehensive benefits package, including:
