Position Summary Credit Karma is seeking a talented and experienced Staff API Developer to join our Cloud Infrastructure team. This is a fully remote position, offering the opportunity to work from anywhere in the USA. In this role, you will be instrumental in designing, developing, and maintaining robust and scalable APIs that power our cloud infrastructure. You will collaborate closely with other engineers, product managers, and stakeholders to build innovative solutions that improve the reliability, security, and efficiency of our platform. Key Responsibilities Design, develop, and maintain high-performance, scalable APIs for cloud infrastructure services. Write clean, well-documented, and testable code. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define API requirements and specifications. Participate in code reviews and provide constructive feedback. Contribute to the improvement of our development processes and tools. Troubleshoot and resolve production issues related to APIs. Stay up-to-date with the latest trends and technologies in API development and cloud infrastructure. Participate in virtual team meetings and collaborate effectively with remote colleagues. Required Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent experience. 5+ years of experience in API development. Strong proficiency in at least one programming language such as Python, Go, or Java. Experience with RESTful API design principles and best practices. Experience working with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP. Experience with containerization technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes. Excellent problem-solving and debugging skills. Strong communication and collaboration skills, essential for remote teamwork. Ability to work independently and manage time effectively in a remote environment. Technical Requirements As a fully remote employee, you'll need to meet certain technical requirements to ensure a smooth and productive work experience: Dedicated home office space free from distractions. Reliable high-speed internet connection with a minimum upload/download speed of 25 Mbps. Company-provided laptop and other necessary equipment. We also provide a home office stipend to help set up your workspace. Ability to work within Pacific Time Zone (PST) core hours for team meetings and collaboration (some flexibility available). Desired Skills Experience with infrastructure-as-code tools such as Terraform or CloudFormation. Experience with monitoring and logging tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, or Elasticsearch. Experience with security best practices for API development. Familiarity with Agile development methodologies. Active participation in open-source projects or online technical communities. Excellent written and verbal communication skills for effective remote communication. Compensation & Benefits The annual salary range for this fully remote Staff API Developer - Cloud Infrastructure position is $160,000 - $210,000, depending on experience and location within the USA.
