Key Responsibilities for Subject Leader:
- Lead and manage the department to ensure effective delivery of the curriculum and attainment of academic goals
- Develop and implement strategies to enhance teaching and learning within the subject area
- Monitor and evaluate the performance of teaching staff, providing support and guidance as needed
- Collaborate with senior leadership to contribute to the overall educational vision and direction of the school
- Coordinate extracurricular activities and initiatives related to the subject area
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of educational trends and best practices to drive continuous improvement
Required Qualifications:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) in the UK
- Proven experience in a leadership role within a school setting
- Strong understanding of the national curriculum and assessment frameworks
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to inspire and motivate both students and staff
- Demonstrated track record of achieving academic success and driving improvement within the subject area
Desired Skills:
- Postgraduate qualification in Education or a relevant subject area
- Experience in implementing innovative teaching strategies and technologies
- Ability to lead and manage change effectively
- Knowledge of current educational policies and initiatives
- Experience in developing cross-curricular links and interdisciplinary approaches
Compensation & Benefits:
The annual salary range for the Subject Leader position at State Schools in Northampton, East Midlands, is £40,000 to £50,000, commensurate with experience and qualifications.
