Key Responsibilities for Tax Accountant:
- Prepare and review corporate tax returns, ensuring compliance with relevant regulations and guidelines
- Conduct tax research and analysis to support tax planning initiatives and strategies
- Assist in tax audits and inquiries by providing necessary documentation and explanations
- Collaborate with internal teams to optimize tax efficiencies and minimize risks
- Stay up-to-date with changes in tax laws and regulations to ensure accurate reporting and compliance
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
- CPA designation or working towards obtaining it
- Minimum 3 years of experience in tax accounting, preferably in a financial services environment
- Strong knowledge of Canadian tax laws and regulations
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Proficiency in tax software and MS Office Suite
Desired Skills:
- Master's degree in Taxation or related field
- Experience with international tax matters
- Knowledge of transfer pricing principles
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines effectively
Compensation & Benefits:
The annual salary range for the Tax Accountant position at Power Corporation of Canada is between $65,000 to $85,000 CAD, commensurate with experience and qualifications.
