Key Responsibilities for Transportation Planner:
- Develop and implement transportation strategies to optimize efficiency and cost-effectiveness
- Coordinate with carriers and suppliers to ensure timely delivery of goods
- Analyze transportation data and trends to identify areas for improvement
- Monitor and track shipments to ensure compliance with regulations and customer requirements
- Collaborate with internal teams to streamline transportation processes and enhance overall supply chain operations
- Prepare reports and presentations on transportation performance and key metrics
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field
- Proven experience in transportation planning, logistics, or supply chain management
- Strong knowledge of transportation regulations, modes, and best practices
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
- Proficiency in transportation management systems and software
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Desired Skills:
- Professional certification in transportation or logistics (e.g., CITT, P.Log)
- Experience with route optimization software
- Knowledge of international transportation processes and customs regulations
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced and dynamic environment
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
Compensation & Benefits:
The annual salary range for the Transportation Planner position at DHL Canada in Abbotsford, British Columbia, is $60,000 to $80,000 CAD, commensurate with experience and qualifications.
