Key Responsibilities for Vice Principal:
- Assist the Principal in the overall administration and operation of the school
- Support the development and implementation of educational programs and initiatives
- Supervise and evaluate teaching staff to ensure high-quality instruction and student engagement
- Manage student discipline and behavior management in accordance with school policies
- Collaborate with parents, teachers, and community stakeholders to foster a positive school culture
- Participate in staff meetings, professional development sessions, and school events
- Oversee school facilities and resources to maintain a safe and conducive learning environment
Required Qualifications:
- Master's degree in Education or related field
- Valid teaching certification in British Columbia
- Minimum of 5 years of teaching experience, with at least 2 years in a leadership role
- Knowledge of educational policies, curriculum development, and instructional best practices
- Strong communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to lead and motivate a diverse team of educators and support staff
- Familiarity with technology integration in education
Desired Skills:
- Experience in educational administration or school leadership
- Training in conflict resolution and restorative practices
- Understanding of inclusive education practices and diversity awareness
- Proficiency in French or other languages is an asset
- Certification in educational leadership or supervision
Compensation & Benefits:
The annual salary range for the Vice Principal position at Calgary Board of Education is between $90,000 to $110,000 CAD, commensurate with qualifications and experience.
