Key Responsibilities for Warehouse Supervisor:
- Oversee day-to-day warehouse operations, including receiving, storing, and distributing goods efficiently and safely.
- Coordinate and supervise a team of warehouse staff, providing guidance, training, and performance feedback.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and safety regulations to maintain a secure and organized warehouse environment.
- Monitor inventory levels, conduct regular stock checks, and report any discrepancies to management for timely resolution.
- Collaborate with other departments to optimize warehouse processes and enhance overall operational effectiveness.
- Implement and maintain best practices for inventory management, order fulfillment, and shipment accuracy.
- Handle escalated issues, such as customer complaints or urgent shipment requests, with professionalism and a problem-solving mindset.
Required Qualifications:
- Proven experience in warehouse management or a similar supervisory role within the transportation and logistics industry.
- Strong knowledge of warehouse operations, inventory control, and safety standards.
- Excellent leadership skills with the ability to motivate and manage a diverse team effectively.
- Proficiency in using warehouse management systems and other relevant software applications.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to interact with team members, stakeholders, and external partners.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines consistently.
- High school diploma or equivalent; additional certifications or training in logistics or supply chain management are an asset.
Desired Skills:
- Familiarity with lean principles and continuous improvement methodologies.
- Experience with forklift operation and other warehouse equipment.
- Knowledge of transportation regulations and customs procedures.
- Bilingual proficiency in English and French.
Compensation & Benefits:
The annual salary range for the Warehouse Supervisor position at WestJet in Laval, Quebec, Canada is between $50,000 to $65,000 CAD, commensurate with experience and qualifications.
