Key Responsibilities For Facilities Coordinator - Coordinate day‑to‑day operations of the Airdrie facility, ensuring a safe, clean, and efficient workplace for all employees and visitors. - Manage vendor relationships for building maintenance, security, cleaning, landscaping, and specialized services, including contract negotiation, performance monitoring, and invoice processing. - Oversee preventive maintenance schedules for HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and other building systems, and arrange timely repairs to minimize downtime. - Conduct regular inspections to verify compliance with provincial health and safety regulations, fire codes, and Apple’s internal standards; prepare reports and corrective action plans as needed. - Administer space planning and office moves, including furniture allocation, workstation setup, and coordination with IT and facilities teams. - Maintain accurate records of equipment inventories, service requests, and facility-related expenses in Apple’s enterprise management system. - Respond to employee facility requests and incidents, providing prompt resolution and clear communication. - Support sustainability initiatives by monitoring energy usage, waste reduction programs, and recycling efforts within the facility. - Participate in emergency preparedness drills and assist in the development of business continuity plans for the site. Required Qualifications - Minimum two (2) years of experience in facilities coordination, building operations, or a related administrative role, preferably in a corporate or retail environment. - Post‑secondary diploma or certificate in Facilities Management, Business Administration, Occupational Health & Safety, or a related field; a degree is an asset. - Strong knowledge of Alberta occupational health and safety legislation, building codes, and environmental regulations. - Proven ability to manage multiple vendor contracts and service agreements, with experience in budgeting and cost control. - Excellent organizational and time‑management skills, with a demonstrated ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines. - Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) and experience with facilities management software or CMMS platforms. - Effective written and verbal communication skills in English; French language ability is a plus. - Valid driver’s licence and reliable transportation for occasional off‑site visits. Desired Skills - Certification such as CFM (Certified Facility Manager) or OSHA/WHMIS training. - Experience with sustainability or green building initiatives (LEED, ENERGY STAR). - Ability to analyze data and generate reports on facility performance metrics. - Strong interpersonal skills with a collaborative approach to working across departments and with external partners. - Problem‑solving mindset with a focus on continuous improvement and innovation.
