Key Responsibilities For Supply Chain Manager - Lead the end‑to‑end supply chain operations for the Burnaby hub, including inbound freight, warehousing, order fulfillment, and outbound distribution. - Develop and execute short‑ and long‑term supply chain strategies that align with corporate goals for cost efficiency, service reliability, and environmental stewardship. - Manage a multidisciplinary team of planners, analysts, and warehouse supervisors, providing coaching, performance feedback, and career development opportunities. - Oversee demand forecasting, inventory optimization, and capacity planning using data‑driven tools and ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle). - Collaborate with transportation, procurement, and customer service functions to resolve bottlenecks, improve lead times, and enhance the customer experience. - Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) such as on‑time delivery, order accuracy, inventory turnover, and transportation cost per unit; prepare regular reports for senior leadership. - Ensure compliance with Canadian customs regulations, health and safety legislation (CSA, OHS), and Purolator’s internal policies. - Lead continuous improvement initiatives, applying Lean, Six Sigma, or Kaizen methodologies to reduce waste and increase operational agility. - Manage vendor relationships, negotiate service contracts, and evaluate third‑party logistics providers for performance and cost effectiveness. - Prepare and manage the annual supply chain budget, tracking expenditures against forecasts and identifying cost‑saving opportunities. Required Qualifications - Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Logistics, or a related field; a Master’s degree is an asset. - Minimum of 7 years of progressive experience in supply chain or logistics management, with at least 3 years in a supervisory or managerial role within the transportation and logistics sector. - Proven experience with ERP and transportation management systems (TMS) in a Canadian context. - Strong knowledge of Canadian customs, trade compliance, and provincial health and safety regulations. - Demonstrated ability to lead large, cross‑functional teams and manage change in a fast‑paced environment. - Excellent analytical and problem‑solving skills, with a track record of using data to drive decisions. - Effective communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to influence senior stakeholders. - Valid driver’s licence and ability to travel regionally as required. Desired Skills - Professional certifications such as CSCP, CPIM, or PMP. - Experience applying Lean Six Sigma (Green Belt or higher). - Familiarity with sustainability initiatives and carbon‑footprint reduction in logistics. - Proficiency in advanced Excel, Power BI, or Tableau for reporting and visualization. - Bilingual ability (English and French) is a plus, especially for cross‑border coordination. - Strong negotiation and contract management capabilities.
