Key Responsibilities For Front Desk Agent - Greet visitors, clients and travel partners in a courteous and professional manner, ensuring a positive first impression of Air Canada Vacations. - Manage inbound and outbound telephone calls, respond to email inquiries, and provide accurate information on vacation packages, booking procedures, and travel policies. - Process reservations, amendments, cancellations and refunds using the company’s reservation system while adhering to Air Canada Vacations’ pricing and compliance guidelines. - Verify traveller documentation, including passports, visas and health requirements, and advise clients on any additional paperwork needed for international travel. - Maintain up‑to‑date client records in the CRM system, ensuring confidentiality and compliance with the Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA). - Coordinate with sales, operations and finance teams to resolve booking issues, handle special requests and ensure seamless hand‑over of itineraries. - Handle cash transactions, credit‑card authorisations and daily reconciliation of the front‑desk cash drawer in accordance with corporate financial controls. - Promote Air Canada Vacations’ loyalty programmes, travel insurance options and seasonal promotions to maximise revenue and client satisfaction. - Contribute to a clean, organized and welcoming front‑desk environment, including the preparation of daily reports and the upkeep of promotional materials. - Participate in ongoing training sessions, product knowledge updates and quality‑assurance audits to maintain high service standards. Required Qualifications - High school diploma or equivalent; post‑secondary education in hospitality, tourism or related field is an asset. - Minimum of 1‑2 years experience in a front‑desk, customer‑service or travel‑agency role, preferably within the hospitality or tourism sector. - Proficiency with reservation and CRM software (e.g., Sabre, Amadeus, Salesforce) and strong computer literacy (Microsoft Office Suite). - Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English; French language ability is considered a strong advantage. - Ability to work a flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends and statutory holidays, in accordance with the needs of the business. - Demonstrated attention to detail, strong organisational abilities and the capacity to manage multiple tasks in a fast‑paced environment. - Eligibility to work in Canada and a valid Alberta driver’s licence (if required for occasional client pick‑up duties). Desired Skills - Knowledge of Canadian travel regulations, visa requirements and health advisories. - Experience with sales‑oriented customer interactions and upselling travel products. - Conflict‑resolution and problem‑solving skills with a calm, solution‑focused approach. - Familiarity with Air Canada’s loyalty programmes (Aeroplan) and travel insurance offerings. - Ability to work collaboratively within a multicultural team and adapt to evolving business priorities. Compensation & Benefits - Annual salary range: $38,000 – $48,000 CAD, commensurate with experience and qualifications. - Comprehensive health, dental and vision coverage for the employee; optional extended coverage for eligible dependents. - Employer‑contributed Canada Pension Plan (CPP) and Employment Insurance (EI) premiums. - Paid vacation entitlement of 2 weeks per year, increasing to 3 weeks after five years of service. - Statutory holidays observed in Alberta, with additional paid days for company‑wide events. - Employee travel discounts on Air Canada Vacations packages, airline tickets and partner hotels. - Professional development opportunities, including tuition reimbursement for relevant courses and certifications.
