Key Responsibilities For Front Desk Agent  
- Greet all guests with a warm, professional demeanor, ensuring a seamless check‑in and check‑out experience in accordance with Westin brand standards.  
- Accurately process reservations, cancellations, and modifications using the property management system (PMS) while maintaining confidentiality of guest information.  
- Respond promptly to guest inquiries, requests, and complaints, escalating issues to the Front Office Supervisor or Management when necessary to achieve resolution.  
- Manage cash handling, credit card authorizations, and nightly cash deposits in compliance with internal controls and Canadian financial regulations.  
- Coordinate with housekeeping, maintenance, and food & beverage teams to fulfill guest requests such as room preferences, extra amenities, and special services.  
- Maintain an organized and presentable front desk area, including lobby signage, promotional materials, and guest correspondence.  
- Perform night audit duties, reconcile daily financial transactions, and generate reports for management review.  
- Uphold health, safety, and security protocols, including emergency procedures and compliance with local regulations.  
- Contribute to a positive team environment by assisting colleagues during peak periods and participating in ongoing training initiatives.
Required Qualifications  
- Minimum high school diploma or equivalent; post‑secondary education in hospitality, tourism, or related field is an asset.  
- At least 1 year of front desk or guest services experience in a full‑service hotel or comparable hospitality setting.  
- Proficiency with industry‑standard property management systems (e.g., Opera, Maestro) and Microsoft Office Suite.  
- Strong command of English and French, both spoken and written, to serve the bilingual clientele of Gatineau.  
- Valid Canadian work permit or citizenship; eligibility to work in Canada without sponsorship.  
- Ability to work a flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, holidays, and occasional overtime.  
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with a focus on delivering personalized service.  
Desired Skills  
- Knowledge of Westin’s “Heavenly Bed” and “WestinWORKOUT” wellness concepts to enhance guest interactions.  
- Experience handling group bookings and corporate accounts.  
- Certification in first aid, CPR, or WHMIS (Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System).  
- Familiarity with local attractions, transportation options, and business districts to provide informed recommendations.  
- Demonstrated problem‑solving abilities and a proactive approach to service recovery.  
Compensation & Benefits  
- Annual salary range: $34,000 – $42,000 CAD, dependent on experience and language proficiency.  
- Competitive hourly overtime rates in accordance with Quebec labour standards.
